Fäsi Crest wines grew out of a passion for fine wines by Ralph P. Fäsi. What started as dabbling with some homemade wine with his close friend, Cesare Fabietti in the 1990’s, changed to a more professional approach in 1999 when the 42 acre Thompsons/Grenache ranch surrounding the residence of the Fäsi Family was replanted and turned into a “cutting edge” vineyard, growing Syrah grapes. With the help of the Fresno State Viticulture department (Dr. Bob Wample) and Ag Quest, the objective was to create a vineyard like no other and to produce superior quality grapes as the foundation to craft top wines in the Madera Appellation. Quality, not quantity was the driving force behind the project.

2003 was the first vintage of Fäsi Crest Syrah Private Reserve. Each vintage since has received Gold Medals, sometimes even reaching the “Best of Class” acclamation, proving the crucial point that Madera can compete with fine wines from any locale.
